Live performance: there is no wrong way to pray by Valerio Volpato

Address: 10 documents, Via di San Calepodio 37, 00152 Rome

10 documents presents there is no wrong way to pray, an audiovisual performance by Valerio Volpato featuring live electronics, sampler, and telephone, alongside the launch of the artist’s new publication.

Starting from a practice of doom scrolling, Volpato constructs an archive of materials collected through Instagram—visual, vocal, and emotional fragments that are sampled, manipulated, and performed live. Traversing states of intensity, vulnerability, and overload, the performance transforms the continuous flow of social media into an intimate and unstable soundscape, suspended between confession, prayer, and contemporary ritual.

We look forward to sharing the highs and lows with you.

Valerio Volpato (Rome, 1995) is a visual artist and musician who has lived in Rome, London, and Zurich. His work focuses on emotional complexity—fear, terror, compulsion, obsessive intrusion—through a rapid and instinctive painterly gesture that allows the unconscious to emerge, making error an integral part of the process. Experimental music, jazz, and noise profoundly influence his work, as does the use of industrial paints on composite materials derived from the aerospace, automotive, and naval industries.
