Hopecore in Dialogue w/ Jenna Jauhiainen

Public program of hopecore, solo show by Dalija Kaukėnaitė

Performative conversation & meme workshop

As part of Dalija Kaukėnaitė’s solo exhibition hopecore, curated by Ginevra Ludovici, 10 documents presents Hopecore in Dialogue w/ Jenna Jauhiainen, a performative conversation and participatory meme workshop exploring sincerity, human connection, and memetic communication within contemporary online culture.

Starting from the research behind hopecore, Dalija Kaukėnaitė and Jenna Jauhiainen will reflect on algorithmically mediated experience, neosincerity, internet culture, and hope in its different forms. The conversation will consider the ways in which memes operate not only as humour, but also as accessible forms of communication through which emotions, ideas, and shared experiences circulate across online communities.

Can memes create forms of connection? Can sincerity survive the meme format? And is hopecore itself a meme?

The conversation will be followed by a participatory meme workshop, inviting the audience to create and share their own memes.

No previous experience is needed. Just bring yourself and your phone.

Participation in the event is for free.

hopecore is part of the Lithuanian Culture in Italy 2025–2026 program. The Lithuanian Culture in Italy 2025–2026 program is implemented by the Lithuanian Culture Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Italian Republic.
